On the afternoon of April 19, 2025, the Youth Union of the Faculty of Information Technology – Van Hien University successfully organized the program "Historical Footprints" with the theme "Go to Remember – Remember to Be Proud" at the Phu Tho Hoa Tunnels Historical Site in Ho Chi Minh City – a prominent "red address" closely associated with the heroic pages of Vietnam’s resistance wars against colonialists and imperialists.

Accompanying the journey was MSc. Dang Van Luc – Head of the Computer Science Department and coordinator of student activities in the Faculty of Information Technology – along with a large number of Youth Union members and ITC Club members. The trip not only offered a vivid real-life experience but also served as a moment for Van Hien’s young generation to reflect, contemplate, and rekindle their sense of national pride.

From the very first steps into the historical site, the students were immersed in a part of the nation’s heroic past through touching stories about the indomitable and resilient spirit of our soldiers and people during the arduous war years. Every detail of the Phu Tho Hoa Tunnels – a creative military construction embodying intelligence and bravery – vividly recreated for the young generation the fierce and challenging wartime period.

The tour continued with a visit to the war artifact exhibition area, which preserves many valuable items—from weapons and daily tools to photographs and documents that capture unforgettable historical moments. Reenactments of battlefield scenes and wartime daily life, combined with vivid storytelling from the tour guide, allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the formation of the tunnels, the fierce battles that took place, and the unyielding will of the local people.

After the tour, the students actively took notes, engaged in discussions, captured memorable photos, and prepared content for the upcoming themed seminar, where they had the opportunity to share their thoughts and newly acquired knowledge. This process helped them develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the nation’s history.

Historical Footprints” was not only a meaningful journey to the roots but also a profoundly humane educational activity, helping students reflect on the past with gratitude, live more responsibly in the present, and move confidently toward the future. The program contributed to nurturing patriotism, inspiring national pride, and, most importantly, affirming the vital role of the younger generation in preserving and promoting the traditional values of the Vietnamese people.

The trip left deep and lasting impressions not only on the students but also on all accompanying faculty members. It was truly a comprehensive educational journey—one that strengthened student community bonds while spreading the core values of history, culture, and national spirit to the younger generation.
