With the goal of fostering creativity and equipping students with standardized methodologies, the Faculty of Information Technology successfully organized a Scientific Research Skills Workshop titled "From Idea to Publication." The event featured a distinguished panel of experts: Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Anh (COO of MYH Joint Stock Company and Vice Dean of the Faculty of IT at VHU), Dr. Nguyen Quang Tan (Head of the IT Division), and Dr. Nguyen Thị Kim Phuong. Attended by nearly 150 students, the program created a vibrant academic forum, helping the younger generation shape professional research mindsets in the digital age.

Throughout the workshop, students experienced a specialized training roadmap, ranging from selecting research topics to practical implementation techniques. Under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Quang Tan, students were introduced to prestigious academic platforms such as IEEE Xplore and Google Scholar to master "Gap Analysis"—a key method for identifying valuable research opportunities. Additionally, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Anh led a hands-on session on Pipeline models and data mining techniques using Kaggle, bringing potential projects in AI, Data Science, and IoT closer to real-world application standards.

Beyond technical knowledge, the workshop placed a strong emphasis on publication techniques and presentation skills, shared by Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong. Modern support tools, including Zotero for citation management and the ethical use of AI in academic writing, were introduced in detail to help students professionalize the process of completing international papers. The highlight of the event was the "Mock Defense" session, where young researchers honed their critical thinking and built the confidence necessary to face academic review boards.

Moving beyond the scope of a traditional academic session, the program inspired a strategic vision regarding the close link between scientific research and entrepreneurship. According to the experts, serious research serves as a solid foundation for creating high-value startups that offer practical benefits to the community. This workshop serves as a vital stepping stone, not only strengthening the knowledge base of nearly 150 IT students but also motivating them to conquer the global labor market and achieve success in their 2026 research journey.
