
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
The Faculty of Information Technology was established in 1997 and proudly stands as one of the first faculties to be established alongside the inception of Van Hien University. Over 24 years of development and growth, the Faculty has significantly contributed to the university's development mission. The Faculty of Information Technology is committed to training a holistic workforce of bachelors and engineers in information technology, equipped with intellectual, emotional, and practical capabilities to meet the demands for high-quality human resources in society and for international integration.
The Faculty of Information Technology has established a cadre of lecturers sufficient in number and standard in quality, who are dedicated to their profession and possess high levels of expertise to effectively meet the requirements for innovation and creativity, thereby enhancing the quality of teaching and scientific research. In addition to the permanent teaching staff, the Faculty also includes visiting lecturers with high levels of specialization and experience (Professors, Associate Professors, Doctorate of Science, Doctors, Masters) who are enthusiastic and committed from prestigious universities such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Information Technology - National University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science, International University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, and business professionals from various enterprises.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
The Information Technology program aims to train students with deep knowledge and diverse skills, capable of grasping new technology trends across specializations such as Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Information Security, Graphic Design, Data Science, and Information Systems. Students will have a solid theoretical foundation while being able to flexibly apply specialized knowledge to practice within their specific fields and professions.
Students will be able to use their knowledge to develop software applications, design and construct network systems, information security systems, graphic design products, and more. Beyond technical skills, the training objectives also focus on developing teamwork, leadership, and effective communication skills.
Simultaneously, exploring new technology trends and maintaining a continuous learning spirit are crucial parts of the training process, helping students become confident and ready to adapt to rapid changes in the IT sector. This nurtures a sense of professional ethics, enabling students to become experts who are not only technically proficient but also socially responsible and respectful.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
The Information Technology program is continuously updated to align with the latest trends, with regular contributions and evaluations from the scientific council and experts for improvements to stay abreast of current developments. Additionally, the training emphasizes the development of soft skills and foreign languages.
Students practice in fully-equipped computer labs with modern equipment to meet course requirements. All classrooms and labs are equipped with air conditioning.
The Information Technology education programs include:
Bachelor’s program: 4 years
Associate to Bachelor's bridging program: 1.5 years
Technical certificate to Associate's bridging program: 1.5 years.
Diploma to Bachelor's bridging program: 1.5 years
Certificate to Bachelor's bridging program: 3 years.
In 2024, plans are underway to develop and launch a postgraduate program in Computer Science lasting 2 years and a Bachelor’s program in Graphic Design lasting 4 years.

DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATION
The IT Department strives to become a leader in training high-quality IT manpower within the private education system with various flexible training modalities such as distance learning, online training, regular training, and collaborative training, meeting the dynamic manpower needs of society and international integration. Simultaneously, the department diversifies its programs, ranging from short courses to undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The department continuously enhances its staff, invests in facilities, learns from peer and international institutions to create an optimal environment for students and faculty to study, teach, and conduct research, and sustainably develops alongside other units within the “Van Hien University” community.
